The Festival of Bowls itself, which has been hosted by Janice Gower for the past eight years heads into its 9th at the stunning location of Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel near Rhyl, North Wales. The week of competitions runs from 10th to 17th May.
The headline events are open singles and pairs competitions which are held under both flat and crown green codes, entrants can play in either just flat, just crown OR both, and entry must be registered at time of booking. For those staying off site competition reservations must be made direct to Janice Gower. There is a cost of £10 per entry to each of the four main events for those staying off site.
There will also be various other events including mixed pairs, triples and 50 up fun tournaments, which can be entered on arrival at the festival and are held during the week, with informal coaching also available for anyone wishing to “have a go” at either or both codes.
So come and join in this unique Festival of Bowls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Half board accommodation at the hotel, from dinner on Monday 10th May to breakfast on Monday 17th May 2010 is at a special rate for the festival of £429 (normal brochure price £569) which includes entry into all competitions. The Stars Bowl into Bodelwyddan
Sports entertainment at its best will be the feature night at this year’s Festival of Bowls at Bodewyddan Castle when stars from the Indoor game take on the stars of the Crown green in “Superbowl” battle of the Codes 2010.
2009 World Indoor Champion Billy Jackson will be captaining an Indoor team of true legends including Wales’s own John Price. Battleing against them, in the challenge of the Codes, will be the Crown Team Captained by Bolton’s Kevan Shaw, featuring West Midlands ace Ant Aldridge, Crowns All England Winner Callum Wraight and Yorkshire star Craig Newton.
The evening will have games of both codes, with fun and entertainment the key to the evening! Who will come out on top as “the Best” bowlers??!!
